Getting Started

For best results, adjust your browser's font settings to 100% or medium. Adobe Acrobat Reader® is required to view the PDF maps. Visit the Adobe Acrobat Download page to obtain this product for free.

Navigating the Atlas
  1. To begin exploring, click the Map Index link on the left side of each page.
  2. From the Map Index page, choose a topic from one of the three subject areas (Issues, Nature or People & Economy) by using the pull down window menus.
  3. Click the "go" button after you choose a topic. The topic pages contain a short article about the subject and links to detailed maps in Adobe Acrobat PDF format.
  4. Access the Abobe Acrobat PDF maps by clicking the link on each topic page or on the thumbnail image of the map. You must have Adobe Acrobat installed to view these maps (see below for more information). Note: Some pages are informational only and do not have a corresponding map.
  5. The PDF maps may also be quickly accessed by choosing from the pull down window titled "Detailed Maps" on the Map Index page. Please note the file sizes listed for each PDF map and allow for sufficient download time.
  6. To navigate to another topic page, return to the Map Index page or use the "Quick Index" pull-down menu on the upper right hand corner of each topic page.
  7. Access the Introduction, Glossary and Resources pages by clicking the links on the left side of each page.

NOTE: The Atlas contains links to other non-LCBP websites on the Resources page and under the Learn More heading on the topic pages. An Internet connection is necessary to access these types of links. While the LCBP will periodically update and verify the links, the LCBP is not responsible for the day-to-day functionality of the links. The LCBP is also not responsible for the content or accuracy of any non-LCBP links.
